Do you ever have a hard time getting your kids to talk about what's going on? Or maybe something comes up unexpectedly and your child just shuts down and can't articulate why they are upset.

This can be very frustrating for parents and for children alike. Communication is often one of the hardest things we do in families.

This is why we created the Conversation Journal. The Conversation Journal provides a way for children and parents to communicate in a calmer, less threatening way. 

Using this process provides time to think and process before you speak which diffuses tension and helps in finding the words that seem difficult to speak. 

I remember feeling so helpless when I desperately wanted to help my kids, but had no idea what was going on with their emotions and what had caused their upset.

Writing gave them a way to "talk" without talking. Something about writing or drawing on paper helped them to express what they were feeling and being able to express was the much needed release that helped them to feel better. Often just getting out what they where feeling and what happened to cause it was enough to know what they wanted to do about it, and then in perfect kid fashion they were able to move on with life and be happy.

This process was a life saver for me and my husband. Now I had a tool to help my kids and that made me and my kids happy which made my husband an avid supporter of this method.

Now it's our mission to help other families have the peace of open communication in their homes.
